Breast Asymmetry

Correction of Breast Asymmetry

Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry is an individually tailored procedure that harmonises differences in shape, volume, or position of both breasts without unnecessarily removing healthy tissue.

The Process

Through precise incision techniques, contouring resection, or volume building with your own fat, we can achieve a balanced overall appearance. Our goal is to largely preserve the natural glandular and connective tissue, minimise scars, and maintain the breast's sensitivity. Through a detailed 3D analysis at BRST, you can virtually experience your new silhouette even before the procedure and define the exact correction plan together with Dr. Martina Schneider and Dr. Farid Rezaeian.

Advantages of breast asymmetry correction at BRST

Tissue Preservation and Sensation

Through precise incisions and gentle modelling, the healthy glandular and nerve tissue remains largely intact. This reduces the risk of sensory disturbances and safeguards the ability to breastfeed - a decisive advantage for patients who wish to have children.

Natural Symmetry

Rather than relying solely on implants, BRST uses advanced techniques such as autologous fat transfer or differentiated resections. The result is a harmonious, organically natural breast shape that moves naturally with the body.

Reduced Scarring

Tissue-preserving incisions along natural skin folds or around the areola result in fine, discreet scars. Combined suturing techniques from reconstructive surgery ensure an aesthetically optimal healing outcome.

Short Recovery Time

Thanks to a minimally invasive approach, gentle anaesthesia, and engineered recovery protocols, you can return to light daily activities after 7-10 days. More extensive physical activities are usually possible after four weeks.

Individual Volume Optimisation

Whether balancing with autologous fat, partial reduction, or a combination with implants. Every correction is precisely tailored to the desired shape and existing tissue. The result is a precise symmetry without compromise.

Long-Term Stability

The precise planning through 3D simulation and intraoperative tissue preservation helps ensure that the result remains shape-stable in the long term as well. Regular follow-up appointments and digital aftercare tools provide additional reassurance.

Procedure steps of Breast Asymmetry Correction

Before the procedure

Before the procedure, a comprehensive examination takes place including 3D silhouette scan, laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging. Together, we define your desired outcome and plan the incision placement as well as any autologous fat harvesting. You receive a detailed procedure plan, personalised preparation tips, and access to the digital patient platform for direct queries.

During the procedure

The procedure takes place in our modern procedure centre under gentle twilight sedation. Through minimally invasive incisions, the tissue is contoured, excess volume is removed, or built up using fat grafting. An intraoperative ultrasound check supports us in achieving the most precise symmetry possible. The procedure lasts 1.5-3 hours, depending on complexity.

After the procedure

Just a few hours after the procedure, you can make your first movements under medical supervision. Special compression garments stabilise the tissue and support the healing process. The first follow-up appointment takes place after one week. Sport is usually possible again after four to six weeks. With regular long-term follow-ups, we accompany you even after your healing is complete.

Cost of Breast Asymmetry Correction

At BRST, you receive a transparent, personalised cost plan that takes into account your personal goals, anatomical conditions, and aftercare needs. No hidden fees - we disclose all items. The cost for breast asymmetry correction starts at CHF 16'000.-

Frequently Asked Questions about Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry

How long does the result of the Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry last?
With stable body weight and good skin elasticity, the results are permanent. However, age-related tissue changes may require adjustments over the years. Regular follow-up appointments at BRST help ensure long-term results.
Is breastfeeding ability affected after a Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry?
In most cases, breastfeeding ability is preserved, as we largely protect the milk ducts and glandular tissue. Only with extensive reduction of certain tissue portions may breastfeeding be limited.
What type of anesthesia is used for the Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry?
Usually, gentle general anaesthesia or twilight sedation is used. The decision is based on your anatomy, the duration of the procedure, and your personal preferences, which we discuss in detail during the pre-consultation.
When can I resume sports after the Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry?
Light activities are possible after about one week. You should wait four to six weeks before intensive training or chest muscle exertion to avoid compromising the healing tissue.
Will visible scars remain after the Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry?
The incisions run along natural skin folds or around the areola. This way, scars usually remain discreet and fade over time. We provide you with detailed scar care recommendations.
Is an implant always necessary to correct breast asymmetries in a tissue-preserving way?
No. Many asymmetries can be corrected through autologous fat transfer or sculpting resection. An implant is only used when it is the best option for the desired volume enhancement.
What risks are associated with the Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry?
Like any procedure, general risks such as infections, postoperative bleeding, or hypertrophic scarring exist. However, thanks to careful planning, sterile procedural conditions, and closely-monitored aftercare, complications occur only rarely.
Does health insurance cover the costs of a Tissue-Preserving Correction of Breast Asymmetry?
Partial coverage may be possible for significant functional complaints or congenital malformations. We are happy to support you with comprehensive documentation for the cost approval process.

Breast asymmetry - when breasts are different sizes

When it comes to personal well-being, a full, well-shaped bust is important to many women. However, if breasts are of different sizes or shapes, this can cause insecurity – when looking in the mirror, getting dressed, or during intimate moments. Such feelings are...
