Get to know me

Martina Schneider, MD is a Specialist in Plastic Surgery FMH with a focus on aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.

Born and raised in Winterthur, she studied human medicine at the University of Zurich, where she also completed her doctorate. From an early age, she was fascinated by the individual beauty of the human body and face. Throughout her studies, she attended courses at the Zurich University of the Arts in life drawing, portrait painting and sculpting.

She acquired the foundations of surgical practice as a resident in the Department of Surgery at Kantonsspital Winterthur. Her specialist training in plastic surgery followed at Luzerner Kantonsspital and Universitätsspital Zürich. After this comprehensive Swiss training, she earned her board certification (FMH) in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in 2018, along with the European board certification in plastic surgery.

Since then, she has spent several years as a senior consultant and team leader at Universitätsspital Zürich, where she developed in-depth expertise in plastic surgery and trained numerous residents. As a mother of three, she has also been a committed advocate for combining a surgical career with family life.

She has further deepened her expertise in reconstructive breast surgery — for congenital breast malformations and following breast cancer — as well as in aesthetic breast surgery, through extensive continuing education. This includes the European Masters Degree in Surgical Oncology, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery and observerships in Barcelona, London, Paris, Helsinki, Brussels and Madrid. Today, she is an established surgeon in this field and, alongside her work at BRST, a core team member at the Brustzentrum Zürichsee (Breast Centre Lake Zurich).

"As a mother and surgeon, it is a matter close to my heart that women feel at home in their own bodies."
